Chat Room!

Hey, everybody. So I was thinking of ways to improve the site yesterday, and I thought “What if we had a chat room?”. So I ran the idea by the lovely ladies on the messageboards and they thought it would be cool. So it’s up now so check it out sometime. Hopefully there will be someone in there to talk to you, haha!

It will be especially awesome when Glee starts because we can have little Glee parties where we watch the show and discuss it together while it’s on, haha! Let me know what you think of it!

The Side Effects of a Radio-Suck Depression.

what’s up fam. :)

been feeling a little uninspired lately.. largely due to the radio. i don’t know about yall.. but i have to admit that i’m SO tired of hearing the same pop song… on every artist.. on every station. they all sound the same to me. the ol’ 808 & a clap, recycled melody, hook-that’s-repeated-too-many-times. it’s such a formula! one that i admittedly have even fallen into myself before. honestly, it bummed me out for a while, so much that i didn’t even feel like getting in the studio or writing new material.

it definitely took me a minute, but i recovered from my radio-suck depression. actually, for the first time in a long time, i feel hella inspired! it’s caused me to rebel against the typical pop-synth-dance music that fascinated me so intensely a few months ago. I’ve really branched out & have been tapping into a lot of genre’s & influences that before now.. i never even thought about experimenting with. swing music.. a lot of old soul/motown inspired stuff.. delta blues.. alternative… reggae.. etc. not to freak yall out, i won’t be recording a bluegrass record anytime soon! lol. but rather, just fusing elements of these different genres with pop to create something fresh and different. something that doesn’t sound like “i wanna make love right na na na na na…” (no disrespect to akon, because he’s so dope. but you get my point?) it’s so good to see an artist like jazmine sullivan doing well. i love lady gaga killing pop radio right now. artists who dare to be different, i love that.

that’s mostly it for right now. just been getting into writing & recording some exciting new stuff.. cannot wait to play it for you guys. was sick a few weeks ago, thanks everybody for the get well wishes, i’m better now. glad to see you guys love Stranded!

anyway, gotta make a quick trip home to texas over the weekend to watch baby sis be a “debutante”. not sure what that’s about.. but i’ll fill you in once this concept is better-explained to me.

this may well be the longest blog i’ve ever posted.. but, i did mention that i was gonna try & keep yall in the loop. don’t say i didn’t warn you. :):)

love you all.

trav.

PS: jennifer hudson. national anthem. super bowl. flawless. that’s all.

Comment the blog right here.

“Glee” News

Filed Under: Articles, Glee | • February 4th, 2009 by NaquitaNo Comments »

Some new articles about Glee have popped up on the internet. The below article confirms that Glee starts airing on FOX this March.

“People may want escapism in tough financial times,” Ryan Murphy said in Los Angeles this month. The creator of “Glee,” a strange hybrid — musical dramedy soap — coming in March to Fox, Murphy is best known for “Nip/Tuck,” an unfailingly dark hour not for the fainthearted.

In “Glee,” he pits nerdy high-school drama club members against the popular cheerleaders, complete with a weekly musical production number. Cast with Broadway talents Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele, and written for all ages, “Glee” might be an appealing dose of uplift.

The next article is mostly about Jayma Mays, but the article gives a couple new details about the show. Check it:

After years of small parts in big projects, actress Jayma Mays is finally beginning to break out.

AccessHollywood.com’s newest Rising Star, who turns 30 this year, has lined up a starring role in the upcoming FOX series, “Glee,” a one-hour comedy from “Nip/Tuck” creator Ryan Murphy.

The show, which is expected to debut next month, will focus on Will, played by Matthew Morrison, a high school Spanish teacher in Ohio, who is given the duty of looking after the glee club. Jayma will play his love interest, guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury.

“We’ve only shot the pilot,” Jayma recently told Access Hollywood of the show’s progress so far. “But… I’m really proud to be a part of it.”

I’m not sure if this interview was done a little while back and is just now being posted, or what, but I would think they’d have more than the pilot shot by now, especially since it starts airing in March.
